What Are Brand Assets
We like to consider ourselves one of The Best Branding Agencies in Chicago so take it from us when we say that creating the face of your business it critical to its success. To do so, you’ll need to determine what you want your brand to exude to the public eye. Your logo, website and overall content are all known as Brand Assets. Some of the most identifiable brand assets are the Nike “swoosh” or McDonald’s “golden arches.” These visual elements including logos, colors, fonts & photos are key, but also intangibles such as brand voice, tone and overall personality.
Common Brand Assets
Below we’ll talk about all of these Brand Assets and how they identify your brand.
Logo & Website
This is where it all begins. The logo is the number one brand asset for a business as it identifies your brand with a symbol. A company’s website serves as the “home base” where brands can put together all of the Brand Assets to tell a story…color schemes, songs, sounds, etc.
Marketing Collateral
Brochures, catalogs and postcards to letterhead templates, business cards and more. All of these are brand assets and/or incorporate Brand Assets…they work to establish a consistent tone, speaking your brand voice across all elements and ultimately defining who you are as a company.
Photography
A picture is worth a thousand words. Time is limited and attention spans are short, which makes visuals absolutely essential. Photography captures the imagery and tells a brand’s story.
Video & Cinematography
Whether it’s documenting an event, storytelling with an innovative video on your website or creating a series of social media shorts, all of these methods can provide the visual content your brand needs. All of this incorporates your other Brand Assets and serves as a Brand Asset as well.
Packaging
Think about some of the well-known packaging and how when you see it, you know what it is? That’s why it’s a Brand Asset – create something that will resonate with consumers.
Color Scheme
Like packaging, there are some colors or color schemes that are associated with brands people know, even if they don’t shop there. Tiffany’s for example and the iconic shade of blue.
Sounds/Songs/Jingles
You want something that is catchy and could easily get stuck in someone’s head. There’s a familiarity when consumers hear a tune…they immediately think of a brand without even hearing the name.
